| About Stanford/Austin. |
 |
 |
The Stanford Club of Austin (Stanford/Austin) is the chapter of the Stanford Alumni
Association for Austin and the surrounding area. Stanford/Austin membership is
completely independent of membership in the Stanford Alumni Association. We
welcome Stanford alums (undergraduate and graduate degrees), those who attended
Stanford but didn't graduate, former professors or other staff,
and Stanford parents, particularly of current students.
Our purpose is three-fold:
- Promoting Stanford. We want to be the focal point for all
things "Stanford" in Austin. That includes promoting our school to
potential new students, rooting for the Cardinal sports teams when they come
to town, shouting down Cal fans at Big Game parties, and providing a framework
for the University to keep in touch with the Austin community. We've all taken
something from our Stanford experiences, so let's give something back.
- Helping Austin. We can honor Stanford through service
to our community, whether individually or as a group. Stanford/Austin actively
encourages public service, and believes that an important part of the Stanford ideal
is realized through helping others in our communitiy.
- Helping Each Other. Whether you call it networking,
socializing, "politicking" or just hanging out, people from Stanford
are the kind of people we want to know. Stanford graduates, and the people that
support Stanford, are leaders in business, politics, education and the arts. We
want to meet you and learn what you're all about.
